Brian G. Long, PGA Professional TPC Louisiana- Avondale, LA Junior Golf Camp at TPC Louisiana The TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camp at TPC Louisiana offers first class
instruction and facilities for the junior golfer. Home of Louisiana’s
only PGA TOUR event, The Zurich Classic of New Orleans, TPC Louisiana allows
campers to focus on all aspects of the game. Our comprehensive short game
training facility allows for fine tuning every type of shot you may face around
and on the greens. The Course Master architect Pete Dye designed the course, working in conjunction with
TOUR players Steve Elkington and Kelly Gibson – a New Orleans native.
Stretching over 250 acres of wetlands across along the Mississippi River delta,
the course is a grand representation of the natural local habitat. The course
is part of the Audubon Golf Trail and a proud member of the Audubon Cooperative
Sanctuary program – providing a landscape that many have compared to a private
nature reserve. The layout incorporates gently rolling hills and stately
stands of cypress and oak trees – with Dye adding plenty of water hazards and
bunkers to make for a highly interesting game. The course offers five sets of
tees, and although it stretches to 7,400 yards from the tips, a series of short
but compelling par-4 holes balance the longer ones to deliver a great blend of
challenge and playability. Camp Director Directing the camp will be TPC Louisiana’s Head Golf Professional Brian
Long. Brian graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
in 2004, and he immediately made an impact in the golf world. He has been
working in the golf industry for the previous 13 years, including the last 7
years with the PGA TOUR. In 2009, Brian was elected to PGA Membership and
he is an integral part in TPC Louisiana being recognized in 2010 as being a Top
100 facility for player development programs by Play Golf America.
